District Co-ordination Officer, Attock, Babar Khan told newsmen here on Saturday that some people have been arrested and investigations were underway. However it is difficult to make conclusions at this stage.
DCO told journalists that the security arrangements were already tight but there may be some lapse that resulted into this sad incident. He said the district administration in collaboration with security agencies would take more measures in future during the election campaign to ensure foolproof arrangements to avoid any mishap.
He said Quran Khwani was held in the Tehsil offices for those who died Friday night and Deputy District Revenue, Javed Iqbal and other officials attended the Namaz-e-Janaza of deceased and expressed sympathies to the bereaved families.
